One more Malayalee woman in the highest rank in Civil Service
Aug 30,2012: Nagma Fareed Malik, a native of Kassarcod is appointed as the Indian Ambassador in Tunisia She will assume the Office in October. Nagma is the daughter of P Muhammad and Sulubanu from Puthiyapura Mahinkara family in Kasargod. He was the Director of the Meteorological section in Delhi.

Nagma is the Deputy Ambassador in Bangkok Indian Embassy at present. She is extremely happy for the new appointment. In the year 1991 she got IAS and IFS in 1993. She joined the Indian Embassy in Bangkok two years ago. Earlier she had worked in the UNO wing in France in the Foreign Affairs Ministry and also in Nepal and Srilanka. She married her classmate and a Supreme Court Advocate, Fareed Malik, a native of Uttarpradesh.They have two children, Aftab and Arnab who are students.
