Malayalee website's self-glorification causing confusion among the community
Dear Editor
I cant be without writing this after reading an interview published by a Malayalee website with Suraj Venjarammoodu. The interview appeared in the so called biggest Malayalee website BM. It was not an interview but a self glorification by putting words in Suraj's mouth making him say that he is an avid fan of BM and MN and not just that selling a CD in between the interview. No one will realise that its an advert or part of an interview.
BM website's self glorification that they are the only one website viewed by majority of Malayalees in the UK will cause confusion among the community in the UK and among those coming from Kerala on visit if one goes by what they are publishing.
Be it a political leader or a film star this particular website's representatives without shame are cocky enough to convince the visitor that there are no other website than them in the UK who can make their visit successful or this is how they present it to them. Not sure whether they believe it or laugh at them later!
Interviews with the visitors are always full of praise about this website, and thus not doing any justice to the person who has been interviewed. The persons who are interviewed are obviously unable to respond as they are unable to question on what has been written as they dont have any control on this website. Interviews published by them with with MA Baby and Suraj Venjarammoodu are testimony to this fact.
Most of the readers do understand the ploy but this website has got their own boys in each area to propogate the theory that this is the biggest and best and viewed by the majority and therefore we need to be making friends with them. The boys will make sure that they will propogate the message about this website's inflated glory to the people who are in power or able to influence others.
It appears that the job of these boys is not just to get the news but to tell the people who are in power - either association or programme organisers that this website need to be contacted or the programme will flop. If the organiser has not contacted this website then these boys will make sure that they ring the website from their phone and hand over the phone to the programme organiser for him to speak to the website owner or his representative in the UK.
One of the organsiers told me recently: "One of them came to me and told me that I have to speak to this so called editor, who will ensure that he will publish a news and that hundreds will throng to the event I am organising. Their boy rang his mobile and passed it over to me to invite the editor.
Thus somehow the news is published on their site at least on the previous day of the event. The next day they start doing articles that the success of the whole programme is because of their write up - just one day!
The recent Dileep show is guaranteed to be a success. However, the reports by this website states that the whole success is because of their write up. There are several Malayalee websites in the UK and they all do honour each other in all aspects of running a healthy competition apart from this one.
