Suraj pins high hopes on his film 'Ente Sathyanweshana Pareekshakal' teaser release today

Suraj Venjarammoodu, ace comedian in the Malayalam film industry, is planning to venture into serious acting with his new and upcoming film 'Ente Sathyanweshana Pareekshakal'. Shanker Ramakrishnan, who worked earlier as assistant to Ranjith and played a principal part in Ranjith’s hit movie “Spirit”, has penned the script for this movie, which makes it more promising for Suraj.

Shankar, who scripted the hit film Urumi, has already opined that this will be one of the best performance of Suraj and he relies heavily on Suraj’s trade mark comedy which will be part of the movie. Suraj too has divulged that he looks forward to a challenging venture in this film.

Suraj, who is in the UK for the Dileep Stage Show, spoke to this website in an exclusive interview. Excerpts from the interview with Balagopal Kent

Tell us about your new film 'Ente Sathyanweshana Pareekshakal'?

I have got high expectations about this film as there are several scenes where there is serious acting involved which will make it more challenging for me. As an actor I love to take up such challenges and I hope this film brings out the best in me. I was surprised when Shankhar Ramakrishanan, script writer for Urumi, approached me and asked whether I could take up this role. I feel privileged now to be regarded as a complete actor as this is not just comedy, as it involves serious acting scenes too.

How is this film progressing and who are the other people behind this film?

The teaser for this film will be launched on the sidelines of the Dileep Stage Show held in Walthamstow tomorrow (Wednesday). Film star Dileep will launch the teaser for the film. The shoot will begin on 29th June in India. The movie will be directed by newcomer Subil. Search for other actors is on. The film will be produced by K. Anil Mathew under the banner of Mary Matha Productions.

How is it going to be different from other films? Is it about the mindset of a comedian?

It is going to be a tribute to the comedians in the film industry. The film revolves around the challenges they face being a comedian and the experiments and tribulations they have to go through being a comedian. There is ample scope to convey a serious message through sprinkling of some comedy. This will give me immense space for extension of my talents as there are several challenging scenes and if pulled through successfully it may fetch an award for the film and me.

Read in an interview given to a Malayalee website that you were overwhelmed by the popularity of that website? You said in the interview that wherever you went people all over were speaking to you about that particular website and that you dedicated your visit to that website.

I have read the article on that website (laughing hilariously). They just used my interview for the promotion of their website.

Why are you so much happy to come to the UK?

Yes, I have been here a few times now and I am very much bowled over by the love and affection shown to me.

You seem to have this association with Thattukada in East Ham. Have you not gone out to eat some good food elsewhere?
